Reliable Performance with Modern Automotive Technology

RaceChip S combines high-quality automotive hardware with engine-specific optimization software to provide an effective and straightforward performance upgrade. Rather than using a universal tuning configuration, the S is supplied with software adjustments developed for the corresponding engine application. The module processes relevant engine sensor signals to optimize performance while operating alongside the vehicle’s original engine management system. This approach is designed to deliver increased horsepower and torque while retaining smooth engine operation and the driving characteristics needed for everyday use.

5 Fine-Tuning Mappings for Customized Performance

RaceChip S features 5 adjustable fine-tuning mappings, allowing drivers to adapt the tuning characteristics to the engine and their individual preferences. Every S module is supplied with an engine-specific base mapping developed for the corresponding vehicle application. Using the integrated rotary control, drivers can select between five fine-tuning settings to gradually adjust the performance characteristics. This straightforward adjustment system allows the tuning configuration to be adapted without specialist tools or complicated software procedures. The five mappings provide flexibility for drivers who want to find a suitable balance between improved acceleration, smooth power delivery and everyday driving comfort.

Improved Acceleration and Pulling Power

By increasing available engine power and torque, RaceChip can improve the acceleration and pulling power of your Saab 9-5 (YS3E). The additional torque can make the vehicle feel more responsive when accelerating from lower engine speeds, overtaking other vehicles or joining motorway traffic. Optimized power delivery also helps provide a more engaging driving experience during everyday journeys and dynamic road driving. S is designed to make better use of the engine’s existing performance potential without requiring permanent changes to the original ECU software.

Engine-Specific Optimization and Everyday Usability

RaceChip develops its tuning products with consideration for the individual operating characteristics and performance capabilities of supported engines. The RaceChip S uses engine-specific calibration to provide additional performance while working alongside the vehicle’s existing engine management and protection systems. Its tuning approach focuses on increasing horsepower and torque without unnecessarily compromising the smooth and predictable response required for normal driving. RaceChip also provides technical support and manufacturer service assistance for customers using its performance tuning products. Any applicable warranty coverage is subject to the manufacturer’s current product-specific terms, eligibility requirements and regional conditions.

Plug & Drive Installation

RaceChip follows the manufacturer’s convenient Plug & Drive installation concept, allowing the tuning module to be connected to the vehicle’s engine sensors using a compatible wiring harness. Unlike traditional ECU remapping, S does not require permanent modification of the factory engine control software. The installation process is designed to be straightforward and can often be completed by the vehicle owner using the supplied vehicle-specific fitting instructions. The included stock plug allows the original tuning configuration to be restored when the module is disconnected according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Installation time and complexity depend on the vehicle model, engine configuration and accessibility of the required connections.
