Akrapovic Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 Evolution Line overview
The Akrapovic Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 (X167) Evolution Line S-ME/T/9H/1 is a high-grade lightweight titanium exhaust system for the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 (X167). Built as an Evolution Line Titanium system, it combines reduced weight, carbon-fibre tailpipe styling, valve-controlled sound, and confirmed Akrapovič dyno data.
This system is designed to fit as a direct replacement on cars equipped with an AMG Performance exhaust. No remapping is needed on installation.
Titanium construction and carbon-fibre tailpipes
The exhaust is made from high-grade lightweight titanium and delivers a 34.2% weight saving over the AMG Performance exhaust system. The fully sandblasted exterior is completed with a new tailpipe design constructed from hand-crafted carbon fibre with a titanium inner sleeve.
The housings for the valves, the active X-connection, and the reinforcement, or central pillar, of the tailpipes are all cast in Akrapovič’s in-house foundry.
Three-valve sound control
The system uses three exhaust valves operated by a specially developed control kit. One valve is positioned on either side of the muffler, while the third valve is located in the active X-connection in the link pipe.
This layout is designed to create a deep, distinctive tone with a full-bodied sound at idle. As revs rise, the exhaust produces a well-defined burble, leading to a high-frequency sound with sporty character at higher rpm.
Performance and weight data
Akrapovič dyno testing against a Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupé with an AMG Performance exhaust system recorded power gains of 6.3 kW / 8.6 hp at 2,800 rpm and torque increases of 21.3 Nm at 2,800 rpm.
The Akrapovič system weighs 17.7 kg, compared with 26.9 kg for the AMG Performance exhaust system. This gives a weight reduction of 9.2 kg, equal to 34.2%.

ECE approval and optional sound kit
The Evolution Line Titanium exhaust is ECE type approved for cars with an Otto Particulate Filter, also referred to as OPF.
An optional Akrapovič Sound Kit is available to provide full control over the sound spectrum emitted from the exhaust. If the Akrapovič Sound Kit is installed, the ECE type approval certificate of the Evolution Line Titanium system is no longer valid.

The correct mandatory Control Kit must be ordered depending on whether the vehicle was produced before or after the facelift.
