Akrapovic Cupra Formentor VZ5 Evolution Line overview

The Akrapovic Cupra Formentor VZ5 Evolution Line S-CU/T/2H is an Evolution Line Titanium exhaust system developed for the Cupra Formentor VZ5. Constructed with race-proven materials, it combines carbon-fibre tailpipes, a high-grade titanium muffler, a stainless-steel link pipe, and valve-controlled sound management.

This system is designed to reduce exhaust weight, enhance the sound character across driving modes, and deliver measured performance gains without ECU remapping.

Materials and construction

The system features hand-crafted carbon-fibre tailpipes with titanium inner shells, a sandblasted high-grade titanium muffler, and a high-grade stainless-steel link pipe. Compared with the standard stock system, the Akrapovič Evolution Line delivers a 49.6% weight saving.

Each side of the muffler contains an exhaust valve. The valve housings are made in Akrapovič’s in-house foundry and are designed to tailor the sound depending on the selected driving mode.

Valve-controlled sound

The exhaust valves help create a clear difference between the Cupra Formentor VZ5 driving modes. In Comfort mode, the exhaust provides a relaxed tone suited to longer journeys. In Sport mode, the sound becomes more expressive, while Cupra mode brings a stronger sporty roar when the car is pushed harder.

The system also comes with a specially developed control kit, giving passengers the full sound experience of the Akrapovič Evolution Line Titanium exhaust.

Performance and weight data

Akrapovič dyno testing against a Cupra Formentor VZ5 with a standard stock exhaust recorded a power gain of 7.8 kW / 10.6 hp at 2,800 rpm and a torque increase of 27.3 Nm at 2,750 rpm.

The Akrapovič system weighs 12.8 kg, compared with 25.3 kg for the standard stock exhaust. This gives a weight reduction of 12.6 kg, equal to 49.6%. No remapping is needed for this configuration.

Technical data

ECE approval and optional sound kit

ECE type approval is valid for cars equipped with an OPF, also known as an Otto Particulate Filter. This makes the Evolution Line Titanium suitable for compatible OPF-equipped vehicles under the stated approval conditions.

An optional Akrapovič Sound Kit is also available. If this part is installed, the ECE type approval of the Evolution Line Titanium becomes invalid.

Fitment and ordering checks

Before ordering the Akrapovic Cupra Formentor VZ5 Evolution Line S-CU/T/2H, confirm the exact vehicle version, OPF configuration, and whether the vehicle was produced after the facelift.

For vehicles produced after the facelift, the Control Kit P-HF1725 is mandatory.
