RaceChip XLR5 for VW Touran (5T) 2.0 TDI (from 10/2020) 2015-

RaceChip XLR5 for VW Touran (5T) 2.0 TDI (from 10/2020) 2015-

RaceChip XLR5 for VW Touran (5T) 2.0 TDI (from 10/2020) 2015- is an advanced electronic throttle response controller designed to improve accelerator responsiveness, enhance driving dynamics and provide greater control over how your vehicle reacts to throttle inputs. Developed by RaceChip, the XLR5 uses intelligent throttle tuning technology to modify the electronic accelerator pedal signal, allowing drivers to choose between seven individual response settings. From sharper acceleration response in Sport and Race modes to smoother accelerator behavior in Eco mode, RaceChip XLR5 makes it possible to personalize the driving experience according to individual preferences. Unlike conventional chip tuning modules, RaceChip does not increase the engine’s maximum horsepower or torque. Instead, it allows the driver to access the vehicle’s existing performance more directly by optimizing the relationship between accelerator pedal movement and throttle response. With integrated Bluetooth connectivity, smartphone App Control, optional wireless touchscreen controller and straightforward Plug & Play installation, XLR5 offers a convenient and flexible upgrade for modern vehicles equipped with electronic accelerator pedals.

RaceChip XLR5 – Improved Throttle Response and Driving Dynamics

The RaceChip XLR5 is designed to make your VW Touran (5T) feel more responsive and engaging by adjusting the electronic accelerator pedal characteristics. Modern vehicles use electronic throttle control systems that translate accelerator pedal movements into signals processed by the vehicle’s control unit. Depending on the factory calibration, the relationship between pedal position and requested engine output may feel progressive, delayed or less direct than some drivers prefer. XLR5 modifies the accelerator pedal signal according to the selected response setting, providing a more immediate or more gradual reaction to pedal movement.

• Improved Throttle Response: Sharper accelerator sensitivity in Sport and Race modes
• 7 Individual Settings: Adjustable driving characteristics for different preferences
• Personalized Driving Experience: Choose between dynamic, balanced and economical response
• Bluetooth App Control: Convenient adjustment through a compatible smartphone
• Optional Wireless Controller: Dedicated touchscreen interface for direct access
• Plug & Play Installation: No permanent modifications to the factory ECU software

XLR5 changes accelerator response characteristics rather than the engine’s maximum performance output. Actual driving sensations depend on the vehicle’s original throttle calibration and selected settings.

7 Adjustable Throttle Response Settings of RaceChip XLR5 for VW Touran (5T) 2.0 TDI (from 10/2020) 2015-

RaceChip provides 7 individual throttle response settings, allowing drivers to adapt accelerator sensitivity to different driving conditions. The available settings include two Sport levels, two Race levels, two Eco levels and one Neutral setting. Sport Mode – S and S+ – Sport mode provides a more direct accelerator response for drivers who prefer dynamic everyday driving. The S setting increases throttle sensitivity compared with the original accelerator response, while S+ provides a stronger effect for a more engaging driving experience. Race Mode – R and R+ – Race mode delivers the most aggressive accelerator response characteristics available with XLR5. The R setting provides a particularly direct response to pedal movements, while R+ offers the strongest throttle sensitivity for maximum responsiveness. These settings are intended for drivers who prefer highly reactive accelerator behavior and a sportier driving sensation. Eco Mode – E and E+ – Eco mode reduces accelerator sensitivity to provide smoother and more gradual reactions to pedal movements. The E and E+ settings are designed to encourage controlled acceleration and reduce unnecessarily aggressive throttle inputs. These characteristics can be useful in heavy city traffic, during commuting and on longer journeys where smooth driving is preferred. Neutral Mode – N – Neutral mode returns the accelerator response to the vehicle’s original factory characteristics. This allows drivers to deactivate the throttle tuning effect without physically removing the module.

RaceChip XLR5 Brainbox – Intelligent Throttle Control

The XLR5 Brainbox is the central electronic component responsible for processing accelerator pedal signals and managing the selected throttle response characteristics. The Brainbox is connected between the accelerator pedal sensor and the vehicle’s electronic control system using compatible Plug & Play connections. Depending on the selected setting, the Brainbox modifies the accelerator signal according to response curves developed by RaceChip engineers. This allows the system to provide sharper, smoother or factory-standard accelerator behavior without changing the maximum engine power output.

Integrated Bluetooth App Control RaceChip XLR5 for VW Touran (5T) 2.0 TDI (from 10/2020) 2015-

Every latest-generation RaceChip XLR5 features integrated Bluetooth connectivity, allowing the throttle response settings to be managed through the RaceChip App on a compatible smartphone. The application provides a convenient interface for selecting the preferred driving characteristics and switching between available settings.

Important: The wireless touchscreen controller is an optional accessory and is not included with the standard App Control configuration unless specifically selected.

Smart Features – Anti-Theft, Valet Mode and Limiter

With the compatible optional touchscreen controller, RaceChip offers additional Smart Features designed to provide greater control over accelerator behavior. Anti-Theft – The Anti-Theft feature provides an additional electronic control function intended to help discourage unauthorized vehicle use through the XLR5 system. It is not a substitute for the vehicle’s factory immobilizer or a certified security system. Valet Mode – Valet Mode allows the accelerator response characteristics to be restricted for situations where the vehicle is temporarily driven by another person. This can provide additional control over accelerator sensitivity when handing over the vehicle. Limiter – The Limiter function provides an additional way to restrict accelerator response through the supported XLR5 controller configuration. It should not be confused with a certified vehicle speed limiter unless the manufacturer explicitly specifies such functionality for the relevant application. Smart Feature availability and functionality depend on the selected controller, software version and supported vehicle configuration.

Perfect Combination with RaceChip Performance Tuning

RaceChip XLR5 is an excellent addition to compatible RaceChip engine performance modules, including the GTS and RS product families. While chip tuning modules are designed to increase available horsepower and torque, XLR5 focuses on improving accelerator responsiveness. Combining these technologies allows drivers to enjoy both the additional engine performance provided by a compatible tuning module and the more direct accelerator characteristics of XLR5. The result is a more engaging driving experience, with increased engine output where supported by the separate chip tuning module and personalized accelerator response from XLR5. It can also be used independently without an additional performance tuning module.
