Wagner Tuning Competition Front Water Cooler for Mercedes-AMG GT (C190 / M178) – 75% more cooling volume

Optimize the performance of your AMG GT with the ultimate cooling system upgrade! The Wagner Tuning Competition water cooler kit was developed specifically for the 4.0L V8 biturbo engine (M178). The massive 75% increase in volume drastically lowers the coolant temperature in the low-temperature circuit and ensures thermal stability for consistent maximum performance from your Mercedes-AMG GT.

Why this front water cooler is a must-have for your AMG GT (C190):

Massive volume expansion: The Competition racing intercooler core increases the cooler volume of the standard water cooler by an impressive +75% (12.2 liters vs. OEM 7.0 liters).
Direct performance increase: Reduces the coolant temperature in the indirect intercooler circuit. This improves intercooler cooling and eliminates heat-related power loss (anti-heat soaking).
Maximum heat transfer: The optimal ratio between internal and external cooling surface guarantees maximum heat transfer while providing sufficient airflow for adjacent components.
Reliability & durability: Equipped with a heat-conducting anti-corrosion coating for long-lasting, reliable cooling and improved system reliability.
Plug & play installation: Installation is straightforward and virtually plug & play thanks to detailed installation instructions.

Technical detail: Cooling circuit optimization for the AMG M178 engine
The 4.0L V8 biturbo engine (engine code M178) in the AMG GT models (C190 series) uses a dedicated cooling water circuit to cool the charge air. Reducing the cooling water temperature in this circuit is the most effective way to optimize engine performance and reliability.
The Wagner Tuning upgrade water cooler achieves a 75% increase in volume primarily by increasing the depth (from 26 mm to 52 mm). This massive increase in capacity in the low-temperature circuit ensures that even performance-enhanced models such as the AMG GT R remain thermally stable.

Technical data in direct comparison (OEM vs. Wagner Tuning front cooler)
The Wagner Tuning front water cooler offers decisive advantages over the standard part:
OEM front radiator dimensions:
640 mm x 420 mm x 26 mm
V = 7.00 liters
A = 2688 cm²

Wagner Tuning front radiator dimensions:
645 mm x 395 mm x 52 mm
V = 12.2 liters +75%
A = 2546 cm²

The Wagner Tuning Competition Water Cooler Kit is plug-and-play compatible with the following models with the M178 engine:
